Community Music Project’s choral groups continue to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the formation of the United States through musical performances.
In November, the CMP Chorale sang many works highlighting American composers, especially New York born composers, and on Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Chautauqua Chamber Singers will be presenting a concert of living American composers at Christ First United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Also on the concert will be the JHS Madrigal Singers. The concert is free to attend with an offering to be taken. A reception will be held after the concert.
The Chamber Singers will be highlighting works by Lauridsen, Whitacre, Dickau, Runestad, and Kirchner. Beginning in February, the CMP Chorale will begin rehearsals for their May concert featuring American music, starting from the time the country was founded up until the present day. To join the 80-voice CMP Chorale, email www.cmpsings.com or call/text 716-268-1551. No audition is necessary.
