Jamestown Man Charged In Stabbing At Business

A city man has been charged in a Saturday afternoon stabbing.

James Morris, 43, was charged with first-degree assault, tampering with physical evidence, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing.

At approximately 12:34 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s were dispatched to a business at 10 S. Main St. for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers determined that two individuals had been involved in a physical altercation inside the business.

During the incident, a third individual, identified as Morris, stabbed one of the participants. Officers located Morris a short distance from the scene and took him into custody without incident.

The male victim sustained a large laceration to his arm and was transported to UPMC for medical treatment. He was later transferred to UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., for further treatment. Following arraignment, Morris was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
