The Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers made 1,518 hats, scarves and mittens for area youth this year. Diane Boland; Claudia Shaw; Richard Hagberg, who made 846 hats; Sharon McCreary, president; Barbra Irons; Carol Samuelson and Rose Prieur, pictured, represented the 18 members who contributed to the donation. Recipient organizations included UPMC Chautauqua Emergency Room and Maternity Care Center, Community Action Organization of WNY (Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc.) Head Start, Jamestown Public Schools, including Lincoln, Love, Fletcher, Ring and Bush elementary schools; Sinclairville Elementary School, Temple Elementary School, Falconer, Lakewood American Legion, Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown, and the Salvation Army. Charlotte Johnson and Julie Bell led the effort and led the distribution.
