Sophie, this week’s Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue Dog of the Week, is a stunning German shepherd/husky/mystery mix who is ready to graduate from the shelter and move into a loving home. Sophie arrived at NCCR with her eight puppies, but has since recovered from malnourishment, raised her little family successfully, and is now spayed and fully updated on vet care. She is exceptionally smart; is working on house-training, and she loves to go for walks or just cuddle up for some attention and snuggles. While she is sometimes a little shy with new faces, she warms up quickly once she feels safe. Sophie is dog-friendly with most other friendly dogs, and has become a favorite among shelter staff and volunteers.
