Prescott DAR Chapter Meets

The Benjamin Prescott Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution met recently at the Patterson Library in Westfield.

The opening ritual was led by Regent Myra Johnston and Deborah Cenni, chaplain. The President General’s Report was read by Sandy Haskin about the increased awareness of the diversity of patriots, including African-Americans, French-Canadians, Spanish and Native Americans. Carol Abell read the National Defender article on where and how General George Washington spent Christmas during the Revolutionary War.

The chapter applied for a Pomeroy Foundation plaque for next year. Myra Johnston reported she completed and filed the Letter of Intent and received word that the request was denied. She is continuing to pursue it

Barbara Pietro is chairwoman for the Christmas Party and reported she is accepting reservations.

The next meeting will be held on March 5 at the Barker Museum in Fredonia.
