MAYVILLE – Thirty-nine members of the Mayville Senior Citizens and guest, Patty Vazquez, met recently for a harvest dinner at the VFW in Mayville.

Dianne Goodrich, devotional chair, gave the invocation, told a story and read “In His Steps” to the group. She then led the group in the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The secretary’s report was given by Darlene Barney with a motion to accept the report made by Tom Dejoe, seconded by Nancy Peters. A Halloween card from Mary Carlson was displayed to the group. The 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center sent the group a letter with this season’s programming. They want to build a relationship with the group and discuss ways to share event information and make programs more accessible for members. Kathie Sukalac presented the Treasurer’s Report, which Bonnie J. Johnson moved to accept, Tom DeJoe seconded.

Senior Council representative Sharyn Giardina reported there was no meeting this month. Goodwill Chair Linda Anderson said she sent out four birthday cards so far, but the total for November will be 12. Tour Director Robin Carr needs two more people for the upcoming trip to Oil City, Pa. Program Chair Bill Tornstrom said the group will be playing Bingo in December with Fred Himes calling the numbers

The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church provided the turkey dinner.

A slate of officers was presented for 2026. President, Robin Carr; first vice president Linda Anderson; second vice president Darlene Harper; secretary Darlene Barney; assistant secretary Janet Loomis; treasurer Kathleen Sukalac, and assistant treasurer Fran Miller. The slate was accepted as presented.

A donation was made to Santa for Seniors. Door prizes were won by Lester Lucas, Sandi Wagner and Darlene Barney. The lottery was won by Ann Hillman.
