Annual Holiday Storefront To Be Largest Yet
3 C’s Catering and the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall, located at 2001 East Main Street in Falconer.
FALCONER – The fifth annual Falconer Holiday Storefront event is set to occur today at 3 C’s Catering and the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall in the village. This event has existed to allow the community members to come together for an exciting day of shopping before numerous other holiday events kick off. It seems with the village resident’s love of these beautiful holiday traditions, the event has only grown to the largest point yet.
3 C’s owners Karen and Robert Cross took over the event about five years ago from the Ross Grange that was located in the village. Cross stated that Ross Grange began the event in the early 1990s. At the time the event would be known as the Holiday Happenings event, and would function nearly the same as the current event. While Ross Grange would run the event out of the falcon’s nest while owned by 3 C’s for many years, ultimately the members of the organization would no longer be able to keep up with the organizing and planning for the event, stated Cross.
Cross stated that once Ross Grange could not host the event any longer, 3 C’s knew it would want to take over and ensure the tradition lives on. Cross stated that they would operate a booth at the event each year that would prove very successful in pushing out the business’s baked goods with Thanksgiving so close by. Due to the attention and customers that this event brings to small local businesses, 3 C’s took over operations and rebranded the event with the current title. The business also saw the community’s love for the event, as it encourages a more connected community. Therefore, this was an event that Cross did not want to see the village lose.
Cross also noted the growth in attendance that the event has seen over the past few years. One reason for this increase in attendance is the fact that the village’s Christmas parade is pushed back to now begin at 5 p.m. Cross stated that this now allows many residents to come into town and shop around for a while, and wait around after they are done for the parade to begin. It also gives off a more festive mood, as the sun has set and the village is lit up by lights as a result, said Cross. Cross noted that this year, there are so many businesses that have signed up that there will be some additional outdoor vendors included. This will be a first time idea for the event, said Cross. Currently, the event anticipates about 26 vendors, certainly enough for almost anybody to find some items of interest.
The event is set to begin on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To find a full list of expected vendors, visit 3 C’s Catering and the Falcon’s Nest Banquet Hall on Facebook.
