LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Community Development Corporation recently presented a $1,000 check to the Southwestern/Frewsburg Football Team in recognition of its volunteer efforts and support during the inaugural Rock the Lake Summer Concert Series at Hartley Park.

Throughout the summer, members of the football team contributed their time to assist with event logistics, set-up and tear-down, and ensuring a smooth and safe experience for concert goers.

“This team went above and beyond,” said Billy Evans, Lakewood Community Development Corp. board president. “Their willingness to step up and serve our community helped to make Rock the Lake a success from start to finish. We are proud to recognize them with this check for their Joe Rushin Fund which enables them to continue to purchase safety equipment for their team members and to thank them for being strong community partners.”

The Rock the Lake Summer Concert Series welcomed residents and visitors for weekends of live music, food, and local fun.

“It was great to be a part of something that brought the community together,” said Jake Burkholder, Southwestern/Frewsburg head coach. “We’re grateful for the opportunity and proud to support our Village beyond the field.”
