LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Community Development Corporation recently presented a $1,000 check to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department’s Canine Unit in recognition of its support and service during the inaugural Rock the Lake Summer Concert Series recently held at Hartley Park.

The check presentation took place recently at the Lakewood Village Hall where representatives from the Lakewood Community Development Corporation expressed their gratitude to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department for its role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees throughout the summer event series.

“The presence of the Lakewood-Busti Police Department at Rock the Lake gave our community peace of mind and allowed families to enjoy the concerts in a safe and secure setting,” said Billy Evans, Lakewood Community Development Corp. board president. “Their professionalism and dedication to public safety were instrumental in the success of this event.”

The Rock the Lake Summer Concert Series, hosted at Hartley Park, drew hundreds of residents and visitors for live music, local vendors, and a celebration of Lakewood’s vibrant community spirit. The event series marked a new initiative by the Lakewood Community Development Corp. The donation to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department Canine Unit reflects the corporation’s commitment to reinvesting in the partnerships and collaboration that make events like Rock the Lake possible.

“The Lakewood-Busti Police Department is happy to have worked in conjunction with the Lakewood Community Development Corporation to help provide a safe and fun experience at this year’s Rock the Lake events,” said Matthew Bentley, Lakewood-Busti police chief. “We are grateful to the LCDC for their donation to our K-9 Fund. This donation will help us to continue to provide this valuable service to the village of Lakewood and town of Busti for years to come.”
