Harmony Senior Citizens Host Meeting
Members of the Harmony Senior Citizens met recently for a tureen dinner.
June Whipple welcomed everyone and co-chaplain Mary Sweeney read “He who Hesitates”, offered the dinner prayer and led the salute to the flag. Birthdays were celebrated by Dee Ellis, Fred and Laurie Russell, June Whipple, June Matherly and Jean Wagner.
Speaker Diane Guzman presented information on the new Hope Haven Program in Jamestown for homeless women ages 18 and up. The building has been completely renovated and there are six single and six double rooms. Individuals must go through the county Department of Social Services for admission. Guzman gave information on the services provided to the residents and the goal is to help them find a job, get their own apartment or move back with a friend or family member. For more information, contact Guzman at 716-484-4028.
Sally Hagg reported she and Mary Keeney finished the audit of the treasurer’s books for the previous year and as usual, everything was in order.
Under new business, June Whipple reported nine members of the group, including officers, recently reviewed the bylaws for the Harmony Senior Citizens. She reviewed the changes that were proposed. These changes will be included in a rough draft to be reviewed at the next meeting by members before being voted on.
Laurie Russell gave some suggestions for the group for fund raisers.
