Busti Historical Society To Grind Corn Sunday

Guests learning about how the mill works during the recent Busti Apple Harvest Festival.
BUSTI – The Busti Historical Society will be grinding corn Sunday, Oct. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the mill, 3443 Lawson Road, Busti.
The society holds a 20c agricultural license to grind and sell cornmeal and whole wheat flour. The public is invited to see and tour the working mill. A children’s activity area will be held in the pavilion next to the mill. The event is free, donations are accepted.
The mill was built in 1839 and remained in operation until 1960. It produced wheat flour, cornmeal, buckwheat flour, and animal feed. In 1973, it became property of the Busti Historical Society and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. In 2013 the mill was restored to operation and rededicated to the community.
