YMCA To Begin Swim Lessons Monday

The Jamestown YMCA’s fall aquatics schedule has been released and programs will begin Monday, Sept. 8.

For infants 6 to 18 and 18-36 months the Y offers parent with child classes where the children become acclimated to water through songs and rhymes. Classes are offered Monday evenings.

Levels are Beginner (unable to swim a width), Intermediate (can swim width but not length), and Advanced (able to pass deep end test). Students are placed into appropriate levels on the first day of class.

Adult learn-to-swim classes will be offered Tuesday nights or Thursday mornings.

Pre-school through adult lessons are 45 minutes, while classes with parents are 30 minutes per class. The YMCA is running 5 week sessions.
