Pursuit into Pa. lands Jamestown man in trouble

A 25-year-old Jamestown man is facing charges after a vehicle pursuit crossed into Pennsylvania.

Frank A. Strohauer Jr., 25, was charged with reckless driving, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable and prudent, failing to keep right, stop at a stop sign, improper or no signal, no lights, unregistered motor vehicle and uninspected motor vehicle.

Officers of the Jamestown Police Department were working a GIVE detail patrolling the area of Allen Street near Willard Street, when they observed a red sedan operating with no plates. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, in which the vehicle then failed to comply and fled at a high rate of speed.

Officers then pursued the vehicle into the south county, and to the Pennsylvania state line. Officers terminated the pursuit after crossing the state line, in which Pennsylvania State Police were able to locate the vehicle shortly thereafter and continued the pursuit. With the assistance of Pennsylvania State Police, the pursuit concluded and the operator identified as Strohauer was taken into custody without further incident.

Strohauer was released to Pennsylvania State Police for out-of-state charges, and is set to be in Jamestown City Court at a later date. Additional charges against Strohauer are pending at this time.

Starting at $3.50/week.
