Nutcracker Auditions Are Sunday

Auditions for the 2025 production of the Nutcracker will be held Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Chautauqua Region Youth Ballet studios, 21 E. Third St., Jamestown. Auditions for the 2025 production are open to dancers of all ages according to the following schedule:
– 2 p.m.: Advanced/Advanced Intermediate Dancers – girls must be very secure on pointe;
– 3 p.m.: ages 9 to 13 boys and girls with dance training and/or gymnastics; and
– 3:45 p.m.: ages 6 to 9 boys and girls, prior dance training not required but recommended, as well as gymnastics.
There are limited non-dancing adult roles available. Interested adults should come in to fill out an audition form and leave a headshot – a separate audition will be scheduled if necessary.
Girls should wear a leotard, pink tights, and ballet slippers and have hair in a bun.
Boys should be dressed in dark tights, dance pants or shorts, and white t-shirt, and black or white ballet slippers.
Those auditioning who aren’t auditioning for a dance part can wear bike shorts, a t-shirt and socks. Girls’ hair must be up.
Changing areas will be available.
All dancers must arrive at least 15 minutes before their audition time. Bring a headshot (school photos are acceptable) for identification/casting purposes.
Expect possible waiting time depending on length of audition segments.
Performance dates for The Nutcracker are Friday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec 13, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. For more information, call 716-664-9766 or visit www.cryb.net
