DOT Announces Bridge, Route 60 Closures
The state Transportation Department is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery will be closed to traffic at the following times to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project:
– 6 p.m. on Monday, September 8, until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9
– 9 p.m. on Friday, September 12, until 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13
– 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. daily from Wednesday, Sept. 10, to Friday, Sept. 12 (closed to eastbound traffic only)
Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430. Work could be postponed depending on weather conditions.
The DOT is also advising motorists that state Route 60 between Residential Drive and the Washington Street bridge in Jamestown will be reduced from five lanes to three lanes on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. to facilitate a resurfacing project.
Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible. Flaggers will be present, as needed, to direct traffic at intersections.
