YWCA To Host Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival

The YWCA Jamestown will host its annual Hispanic Heritage Festival, in a new location and with new features for 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Jackson-Taylor Park.

This year’s move from the downtown location to the scenic Jackson-Taylor Park provides more space for families, cultural showcases and community partners. New for 2025, a live Latin band will perform. There will also be live music and dancing, local food vendors serving authentic food, Cultural education and interactive activities for all ages, community resource tables, storytelling and family-friendly programming and DJ Synergy Entertainment.

“Join us for a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month where we can share our colorful culture, rich history, amazing cuisine, and the diversity within the Hispanic community,” said Felix Ortiz of Synergy Entertainment.

The festival is organized by a volunteer planning committee including Felix Ortiz, Carmen Perez, Solimar Vazquez, Leishya Rios, and YWCA Jamestown staff.

“Working alongside a wonderful group of fellow Latino professionals to organize an event where we can celebrate our culture, language, and music — and where the whole community can experience that joy with us — has been incredibly rewarding,” Vazquez said.

Committee member Yanira Castellano reminds everyone that admission is free to attend.

“I’m thrilled to be working alongside passionate community members who love planning this event each year. Our new location will allow even more people to feel comfortable and inspired to celebrate,” Castellano said. “We wholeheartedly invite you to Jackson-Taylor Park on September 20 to experience the richness of our culture, history, and traditions.”
