Cattaraugus County Teacher Releases Books

Dr. Casey Jakubowski, a State University at Fredonia graduate, teacher and Little Valley resident, is pictured with books he has written.

LITTLE VALLEY – Dr. Casey Jakubowski, a graduate of the State University at Fredonia and teacher in Cattaraugus County has written books based on his experience teaching and researching in schools from the western Southern Tier.

His book Thinking about Teaching from EduMatch Publishing describes his experience Teaching social studies in rural Cattaraugus County. His second book, A cog in the machine (EduMatch) describes his experience at Suny Fredonia, growing up in Western New York, and working in rural schools. Two more books explore place based Teaching and recruiting teachers. Dr. Jakubowski has also authored two books from Lexington press about state policy towards rural schools. His first book, Rural Education History examines the attempted centralization of Westfield and Brocton. His second book, to be released late 2025 examines the Kiantone community school controversy from the late 1940s.
