Bemus Point/Maple Grove Alumni Hold Open House

The annual Bemus Point/Maple Grove Alumni Open House was held recently at the Fluvanna Fire Hall.

In attendance were individuals from the classes of 1944 through 2025. Bob Gustafson (Class of 1965) talked about the undefeated year for the sports teams and Scott Lewellen (Class of 1970) covered the history of sports in the Bemus School District since 1929.

Camden Lombardo and Alexander Southworth, Class of 2025 Chuck & Irene Hallberg Award winners, received awards and gave a brief description of their future plans.

Bouquets of roses were presented to Miriam Price (Class of 1944) and Roger and Mary Ann Jaroszynski Whitford (Class of 1952) for being the oldest members in attendance.

Sarah Swanson presented a donation from the class of 1964 to the Alumni Association for the Chuck & Irene Hallberg Award Fund.

The Maple Grove Class of 1964 presented a check to the Alumni Association for the Chuck & Irene Hallberg Award Fund. Pictured are LeAnn Childs (Class of 1979), Sarah Hooper Swanson (Class of 1964) and Larry Hallberg (Class of 1970).

Next year’s open house is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fluvanna Fire Hall. All individuals that attended/graduated from Bemus Point/Maple Grove are invited to attend. For more information, email bp.mg.alumni@gmail.com.
