Vaughn To Represent Frewsburg Legion At Boys State

FREWSBURG – The Samuel L. Derby Post 556 and Sons of the American Legion have selected Frewsburg student Cole Vaughn to attend Boys’ State at the State University at Morrisville.

Cole is the son of Derek and Michelle Vaughn. Cole is very active in sports year-round and is a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He has also been a member of the cross country and soccer teams. Cole plays travel soccer and is a referee’s games for US Soccer. Cole is a delegate for the junior class and has served on the Student Council. Vaughn attends Trinity Church and helps in the youth Sunday school.

After graduation, Cole plans to attend the University of Buffalo and pursue a career in the medical field.

Boys’ State of New York is a program sponsored by the American Legion. Candidates who attend Boys’ State must be above average students, prove good citizenship and leadership skills. The objective of Boys’ State is to develop civic leadership and promote American Citizenship. Attendees learn a detailed study of our government and its functions.
