Thule Lodge Holds Swedish Midsommar Meal With Dancing

FALCONER – The Thule Lodge recently held its Midsommar meal with dancing during a recent meeting.
The Thule Lodge is the Swedish organization of the Jamestown area formed 118 years ago to help the Swedish immigrants settle in the U.S. with housing, employment and schooling. Today the lodge exists to preserve Swedish heritage through events and activities. Susan Fredrickson Washington Sipos is the lodge chairman. The Swedish Midsommar meal was catered by the 3C's Catering, and held in the Falcon's Nest in Falconer.
The meal was coordinated by events chairman Lynne Meyers.
Following the meal, the Thule Folk Dancers performed a number of Swedish dances, and dancers were dressed in Swedish outfits, for the group present. Music of two violins by Kathy Peterson and Cheryl Ritch, and accordion music by Don Sandy was provided for the dancers.
Thule Lodge will have a historical display at the Aug. 23 Chautauqua County Expo in the Fluvanna Community Church hall.
