New Jersey Man Charged In Attempted Fraud

Mark Zadroga

A New Jersey man has been arrested after allegedly trying to get a loan from a Jamestown bank with fraudulent information.

Mark M. Zadroga, 45, was charged with five counts of second-degree forgery, first-degree identity theft, second-degree grand larceny and second-degree criminal impersonation at 10:44 a.m. July 22 at the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union on East Second Street.

According to a police report, officers responded to a reported fraud complaint from credit union staff members who told police that a man was attempting to get a loan from the bank for a large sum of money using suspected fraudulent identifications. The male was interviewed by officers and had allegedly provided a false name to officers.

Officers found the man allegedly provided forged identifications and other documents, using the identity of a man who lives in New Jersey in an attempt to obtain the loan.

Zadroga was charged and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned Friday in Jamestown City Court. Police said additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Starting at $3.50/week.
