Mayville Senior Citizens Meet
MAYVILLE – The Mayville Senior Citizens met on June 19th at the VFW in Mayville, NY. Happy Birthday was sung for those having a birthday this month.
Dianne Goodrich, Devotional Chair, shared some stories and read “Message from God” before leading the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.
Linda Kesby spoke about the successful Senior Expo at SUNY Fredonia and mentioned it will be held again next year. Linda Anderson, Goodwill Chair, reported sending out two birthday cards and one “thinking of you” card. There is a River Cruise in Buffalo on July 19 costing $100. Bill Tornstrom, Program Chair, announced that John Cross will play a variety of songs on his saxophone at our next meeting on July 17, where the club will provide hot dogs. Bonnis Johnson and Rita Himes from the kitchen committee were thanked. Nancy Peters and Laurie Magnuson volunteered for the kitchen committee on July 17, while Becky Dalziel and Chip Winchell will assist on Aug. 21.
Jerry Johnson announced he will be holding Tai Chi classes at the VFW on Tuesdays at noon, free of charge. There were no door prizes. Chip Winchell won the lottery.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned, and the group enjoyed bingo led by Fred Himes.
