Hazeltine Library To Host Art Exhibition

BUSTI – Artist Rachel Brown puts the finishing touches on her display at the Hazeltine Public Library; her work is on display until mid August. Brown paints local landscapes and creates structural pieces from old vinyl records. She has recently won the 2025 Curators Award for Artistic Excellence for her work “Clouds Over Chautauqua”, part of the ArtScape Banner project in Jamestown. She is mostly self taught but has taken classes at Maryland Community College, Chautauqua Institution and had instructions from Cecil Rhodes. She is also a member of the North Shore Artist Alliance. A local resident now, she traveled the world with her family while her father worked with the foreign service. She says her paintings ‘reflect an emotional response to the wild and the tamed landscapes of our county, I work to capture the stillness of the moment, a sense of time passing and promises of changes to come.” The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti-Sugar Grove Road, Busti, and is open six days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 to 7 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library can be reached at 716-487-1281.

Starting at $3.50/week.
