SHERMAN – A summer open house will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Centaur Stride.
The open house will include rider demonstrations, tours of the facility, information on programs and volunteer opportunities, an opportunity to meet therapy horses, a treat station and introduction to riding, which is available for a small donation.
The non-profit will also auction 22 baskets starting at 1 p.m. Tickets to enter the Vacation Beach Home Weekend at Angola on the Lake, donated by Richard and Marjorie Waite, will be available at the open house as well, with a drawing scheduled for July 26 at the Westfield Arts & Crafts Festival on July 25 and 26.
Door prizes and snacks provided.
Featured at Saturday’s open house will be the work of Grace Graham and her Girl Scout Gold Award Badge research project. Grace started riding at Centaur Stride when she was seven years old and as soon as she was 13, she signed up to be a volunteer. Now, 10 years later, she wants to make it possible for more people to benefit from the programs at Centaur Stride. Her research involves finding as many sources as possible for funding people with disabilities to be able to engage in the activities at Centaur Stride.
Centaur Stride is located at 8488 Jones Road, Sherman. For more information, email info@centaurstride.org
