Bemus Point Man Charged With Weapons, Drug Possession

ELLERY – A Bemus Point man faces drug and weapons possession charges after a raid at the High Acres Mobile Home Park in Ellery on Thursday

CHautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies and Jamestown police officers executed a search warrant at 12:56 p.m. Thursday at 28 Second St. in the mobile home park after several months of investigation into drug activity. Franklin Matteson III, 36, of Bemus Point was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm and nine counts of criminal possession of a weapon after officers allegedly found 28.7 grams of fentanyl, 1 gram of crack cocaine, a loaded .40 caliber Glock handgun, nine high-capacity magazines, scales used for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $190.

Matteson was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Program.
