Hundreds Take Part In No Kings Rally

More than 100 area residents brought signs while taking part in a No Kings rally on Saturday morning in Fredonia, pictured. It began with a march at 10 a.m. from Central Avenue at Cottage Street and proceeding down Central to Barker Commons with speakers and music. Later, at about the same time as the parade in Washington, 6 p.m., there was to be a standing protest assembled across from the Walmart on Route 60, with participants encouraged to make and bring signs to show their concerns. A similar event was held in Jamestown at Dow Park on Saturday morning. A group of counter-protesters were also in attendance nearby. Across the nation, thousands gathered for a flagship “No Kings” march in Philadelphia to the Museum of Art. Atlanta’s 5,000-capacity “No Kings” rally quickly reached its limit, with thousands more outside the barrier to hear speakers in front of the state Capitol. Governors and city officials are vowing to protect the right to protest and to show no tolerance for violence. Republican governors in Virginia, Texas and Missouri are mobilizing National Guard troops.

Starting at $3.50/week.
