Audubon Dragons And Fairies Fest Is Saturday

Wonderful adventures await at the Audubon Community Nature Center’s Dragons and Fairies Festival Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect a day filled with fairy tale story times, child-safe and regular archery, live music, food, play areas, photo areas and fun. Children receive a treasure bag at the info booth to collect prizes throughout the event.

The schedule for the day is:

– 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Vendors, crafts, food trucks, scavenger hunts, Nature Center Building Exhibits, ogre dice rolling game, mushroom ring toss, obstacle course, kid-friendly and real archery, costume/photo booth, trading post

– 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Facepainting by Patti

– 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Live Celtic music by Water Horse (Sue Tillotson and Jim Cunningham) in the backyard pavilion

– 11 a.m., 12:30 and 2 p.m. – Fairy Tale storytimes

– 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Carriage rides (reservations recommended)

– 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Drum circle

Pearl City Clay House and blacksmith Ron Johnson will do demonstrations. Vendors will have jewelry, fantasy paintings and more for sale.

Food trucks include 3 Cs Catering and Gelati’s Italian Ice.

Parking is free. Admission is $12 adults, $9 Nature Center members and children 3-15, free for 2 and under. Some things cost extra; bringing cash makes transactions easier.

Visit AudubonCNC.org/events for more information and to reserve a time for a Magic Moments horse-drawn carriage ride. Rides are available every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Carriage rides may be available for walk-ins, but are not guaranteed.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, winners of the 2024 Nature Photography Contest, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop.
