Southwestern Middle School officials recently released the school’s April Students of the Month. They are

Billy Piazza, sixth grade and the son of Stephanie and William Piazza. His favorite subject in school is math. Billy participates in the middle school quiz bowl and band. When he is not at school, he enjoys playing video games and raising his goats. One fun fact about Billy is that he is very good at alto saxophone.

Ada Chen, seventh grade and the daughter of Jing and Yao Chen. Ada’s favorite subjects in school are technology and band. She runs on the modified track team at Southwestern. Outside of school, Ada takes drum lessons at Infinity. When she’s not at school, she enjoys riding her bike and playing basketball. One fun fact about Ada is that she is in advanced math.

Alex Olson, eighth grade and the son of Maria and Avery Olson. His favorite subjects in school are math and science. Alex plays on the modified baseball team. He is also a member of band and choir. Outside of school, Alex plays on the Mercyhurst Junior Lakers hockey team and the Gladiators baseball team. When he’s not in school, he enjoys watching TV, reading books, and spending time with his family. One fun fact about Alex is that he likes building big Lego sets.
