JCC Announces Student Graduation Speakers
Jamestown Community College’s commencement ceremonies will feature student speakers from the Cattaraugus County and Jamestown campuses.
Samantha Simon will speak at the Cattaraugus County Campus ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, May 16, at the Olean YMCA, and Tarryn Meyer at the Jamestown ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, in the on-campus Physical Education Complex gymnasium.
Simon is set to graduate with an A.S. degree in Business Administration. The Rixford, Pa., native and Otto-Eldred School District graduate is a member of JCC’s Phi Theta Kappa honor society and recently earned the Cattaraugus County Campus Business Administration Award.
Simon plans to continue studying business with the goal of earning a doctorate degree. Simon is the director of operations at Intandem.
Meyer is set to graduate with an A.A.S. degree in Nursing. The native of Fourways, South Africa, has been a member of JCC’s Nursing and Impact clubs and women’s soccer and softball teams.
Meyer plans to move to Bangor, Maine for a nursing job and aspires to work in a Level 1 trauma emergency room.
JCC’s 75th anniversary commencement ceremonies will also include keynote addresses by longtime retired employees Nelson Garifi and Marilyn Zagora, along with current faculty Brent Harkness, Madison LaVallee, and Jennifer Visbisky.
