Humane Society Celebrates 120th Anniversary
The Chautauqua County Humane Society recently hosted a celebration of its 120th Anniversary at the Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union Training Center.
During the celebration Jane Babinsky, Humane Society executive director, unveiled the new logo, colors, mission and vision statements, and core values of the organization.
“We are breathing new life into CCHS as we also are going to be embarking on a capital campaign this year to upgrade our facility to be compliant with New York State’s new Animal Cares Act,” Babinsky said. “We all do what we do because we want to provide the best care possible for the animals in our care and to assist the community with providing services for the care of all animals. We hope to expand our humane education programs, plan on bringing back pet therapy visits, expanding clinic services, and we are going to be offering K-9 Behavior and training classes in the near future.”
County Executive PJ Wendel presented a certificate from the county.
“The passionate people that are here and 120 years of sustainability is evident of the dedication, commitment, and passion you all have for animals,” Wendel said.
The celebration is a kickoff to a yearlong celebration of the monumental anniversary, which will include a newly redesigned website that will serve as an improved resource to the community, and a number of new events that will help the organization’s mission of empowering the community to improve the well-being of animals.
