From caroling to candlelight services, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Main St., Jamestown, is offering festive opportunities throughout December.

“It’s an important time of year to find beauty and delight in the company of others,” said Karen Hewes Suber, St. Luke’s director of music and community arts integration, “and St. Luke’s celebrates in so many ways to honor the season.”

The Chadakoin Chamber Ensemble will be performing its Holiday Harmonies event in the church on Saturday, encouraging attendees to wear festive ugly sweaters to this family-friendly concert. Joyful sounds will continue with the caroling and pub crawl on Tuesday, Dec. 17, starting at The Pub on Main Street, Jamestown.

The darkest time of the year will be marked by the Sacred Songs for Solstice celebration the evening of Friday, Dec. 20, in the church’s chapel with easy, fun sing-a-longs from diverse traditions celebrating the solstice and the return of light. For people who find the holidays challenging, the Blue Christmas Service on Saturday, Dec. 21, offers a supportive space at the church.

The traditional Christmas Pageant at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve and the Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. will be held on Dec. 24. The Christmas Eve Service will feature the music of soloists Gavin Card, Victoria McIlvain, and Aaron and Boaz Mecham.
