Harmony Senior Citizens To Meet Nov. 7
PANAMA – The Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 7, for a Thanksgiving dinner at the Panama Methodist Church.
Reservations are required. Members Ellen Coffaro, Sally Hagg and Wendie Raynor volunteered to bring pies. After discussion, it was decided to hand each member who paid for the dinner a ticket when they sign in. The ticket should be given to the individual who served them their dinner. Music will be provided.by Virgil Rothra. Gail Keller volunteered to bring the birthday cake for November. Hosts for November are June Whipple, Dottie Enlow and Sally Hagg.
The group met recently at Panama Methodist Church for a tureen dinner. Dottie Enlow and June Whipple led the group, welcomed visitors and members. Chaplain Marty Lafredo read “Love and Joy”, offered the dinner prayer and led the salute to the flag. Forty members and guests were present.
Cindy McIntyre recognized the following members celebrating a birthday during the month of October: June Whipple, June Matherly, and Dee Ellis. Ellen Coffaro made a birthday cake to be served at dinner. Happy Birthday was sung and birthday members went first in line. Cindy McIntyre also reported she had sent get well or thinking of you cards to Willa May Rupczyk, Melvin and Ellen Lord and Leah Bullock. She was asked to send a card to Tom Smith.
Wendie Raynor read the minutes of the September meeting, which were approved with the addition that Dottie Enlow and June Whipple will also chair the December meeting. Mary Lou Garfield gave the treasurer’s report.
After discussion, a motion was made by Ellen Coffaro, seconded by Dottie Enlow to not hold a meeting for the months of January and February. The motion was carried. A reminder if Panama Central School is closed due to the weather, the Harmony Senior Citizen meeting is automatically canceled.
Following the meeting, members played some games of Bingo. Prizes were won by Wendie Raynor, Harriet Smith, Sally Hagg, Richard Harper and Mary Lou Garfield.
