For the first time, the CHQ Chamber presents Made in Falconer, Saturday, October 5! In recognition of National Manufacturing Month, the CHQ Chamber Committee in Falconer has organized this event to highlight the wide variety of local manufacturers, retailers and restaurants. Participating manufacturers are Dahlstrom Roll Form, Ellison Bronze, Falconer Printing, Fancher Chair, Hanson Sign, and Stuart Tool & Die. These businesses will be open for public tours from 10am-2pm, with fresh tours beginning every half hour.

When you’re touring each location, find the scavenger hunt word at each site so you can text an entry into the Made in Falconer prize drawing. Prizes will include baskets with items donated by local businesses including 17-19 West Main Mercantile, Persnikkity Pies, ShopLocalCHQ Gift Cards, and more. You are also encouraged to visit other local Falconer area businesses for dining and shopping between tours.

CHQ CHAMBER AWARDS TO BE PRESENTED OCTOBER 10

The CHQ Chamber is pleased to announce a diverse group of award recipients who will be honored during our annual Chamber Awards Banquet October 10. This year the Chamber reimagined its awards process, following a full year of strategic planning and rebranding that has left us focused clearly on our mission to build vital connections, provide professional resources, and champion our local businesses in Chautauqua County.

One award will be presented for Emerging Business of the Year – a newer or growing business that has demonstrated vision and/or filled a need in Chautauqua County. Business Sector Awards are being presented for Hospitality Business of the Year (restaurants, attractions, lodging); Service Business of the Year (retail or service such as financial, insurance, legal, etc.); Producer of the Year (manufacturing, agriculture, or construction); and Not-for-Profit of the Year (an outstanding nonprofit organization).The Business Champion Award is designed to recognize an organization that has contributed most to the economic development, quality of life and stability of Chautauqua County. The Business of the Year Award will be presented to a business that has demonstrated outstanding leadership in employee growth, product development or exemplary service. In addition, multiple businesses will be recognized for milestone service years or multi-generational ownership.

W. Each year the CHQ Chamber provides an opportunity for local businesspeople to hear directly from their local elected representatives at the county, state, and federal levels. This year the Chamber’s Congressional Luncheon will be held Thursday, October 3 at Shorewood Country Club, 4958 West Lake Road, Dunkirk. Representative Nick Langworthy will be our guest, and we hope attendees will come with questions for our Congressman.
