Mayville Senior Citizens Hold June Meeting
MAYVILLE – Forty-two members of the Mayville Senior Citizens met recently at the VFW in Mayville for a pot-luck dinner.
Dianna Goodrich gave the invocation. She also led us in the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Jeff Wagner called the meeting to order. Linda Anderson, goodwill chairperson, brought in a cake for the nine members with birthdays. Anderson also sent out two get well cards and five birthday cards.
Wagner said Robin Carr was putting together a three-day trip to Lancaster, Pa. from Oct. 16-18 costing $519 per person. Also, on Aug. 1,the Chautauqua Institute is having a “free” day for senior citizens with free parking. Call 716-357-6250 to get tickets.
Bonnie Johnson moved the secretary’s report be accepted as read; seconded by Joyce Ayers; carried; Correspondence from Sonja Johnson and her husband, Elie, was read. They donated our speaker’s stipend to the Mission of Evangelism for Disciples of Christ, Inc.
Treasurer’s report was given by Kathie Sukalac The treasurer’s report was accepted as given.
Wagner thanked members for coming to the Senior Council’s meeting on June 13th. The kitchen committee of Joyce Ayers and Bonnie Johnson was thanked. Kitchen committee volunteers are needed.
Door prizes were won by Peter Stillman, Kathie Sukalac, and Ray Jones. Lottery was won by Linda Anderson with a bonus of $3 given by Jeff Wagner.
The guest entertainers were Gail and Bernie from Cattaraugus. They played a collection of bluegrass songs much to the pleasure of the group.
