Pictured is the damage to 2036 Lake Ave., located on Route 5 just outside of Silver Creek, after a vehicle struck the residence Monday morning. Fire police directed traffic on Route 5 until just before noon Monday. The road is now clear. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department reported 62-year-old Kevin J. Easterly of Dunkirk lost control of a Chautauqua County Resource Center bus containing eight individuals around 7:30 a.m. The bus crashed through two fences and into a residence. Seven individuals were transported to Brooks-TLC Hospital. One passenger was transported to ECMC in Buffalo. No one from the residence was injured. Easterly was issued traffic citations for speeding and unsafe lane change. He will be in town court later.
