Senior Safety Summit Planned For Friday

New York StateWide Senior Action Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of senior citizens and families through advocacy and services. One of its helplines, the federally funded New York Senior Medicare Patrol program serves to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling, and education.

StateWide is partnering with Chautauqua Office for Aging to hold a Senior Safety Summit to educate individuals on the latest scams and how they can protect themselves from fraud schemes.

This event will bring together officials from various organizations to highlight scams that target older New Yorkers and provide education and prevention information to individuals, families, and caregivers. In addition to StateWide and the Chautauqua Office for Aging, organizations in attendance include Social Security Administration, Adult Protective Services, Chautauqua County Sheriff, Center for Elder Law and Justice, state Division of Consumer Protection, among others.

The Chautauqua County Senior Safety Summit will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crystal Ballroom, 110 W Third St., Room 210, Jamestown. Refreshments will be provided, Call 800-333-4374 to RSVP.
