Giglio Announces $60,000 In Library Grants

ALBANY – Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio, R-Gowanda, announced a total of $60,000 in grants to support libraries in Allegany, Cattaraugus and Steuben counties.

Giglio approved the release of $30,000 to the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System and $30,000 and the Southern Tier Library Association. The library systems support 32 public libraries across the 148th Assembly District.

“As information and resource hubs, our public libraries provide essential services that help our communities grow and thrive,” Assemblyman Giglio said. “We saw how vital our public libraries are to our communities during the pandemic. Our libraries need updated technology and new books materials in their catalogue to meet the needs of library patrons, children, students and adults.”

Janice DeKoff, executive director of the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, said the grant will provide much-needed support for libraries in Cattaraugus County.

“The Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System and all of the libraries in Cattaraugus County are grateful for Assemblyman Giglio’s unwavering support of libraries. The Grant in Aid funds that he has dedicated will help our libraries support their communities for the betterment of Cattaraugus County,” she said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
