Kennedy Library Hosts Tour Of Local Cemetery

The Kennedy Free Library hosted a tour of Riverside Cemetery in Kennedy recently during its “libratory” homeschool class hosted bimonthly. Kim LeRoy is the town of Poland historian and helped put together facts about Poland residents buried in Riverside Cemetery. The families present learned the legend of the one-legged peddlar and the niece-in-law of Mark Twain who is buried in the cemetery as well as one of Lucille Ball’s school teachers. October 5, the library will be hosting a historic cemetery tour at Riverside Cemetery open to the public. For questions on the “Libratory” program and other library programs, call Dawn at 716-267-4265. Pictured with some of the children attending the program are Kim LeRoy, town historian, and Dawn Swanson, library director, right.
