Chicken Little Is CCHS Pet Of The Week

Chicken Little

One glance into the soulful, wise eyes of Chicken Little will tell you that she’s seen a great deal. Her origin story is part sad tale and part dramatic rescue. She was spotted one frigid winter evening in a snowstorm, sleeping in the parking lot of an auto parts store. Some kind humans investigated and learned that she had been living on the street for months. Because she was skittish, she had to be humanely trapped before she could be brought to the safety and warmth of the Chautauqua County Humane Society. She was a bit of a local celebrity by the time she was caught, and the community celebrated. She quickly became a staff favorite. Although Chicken Little is still incredibly shy, she blossoms more each day. She is affectionate, and once she trusts someone she is a lap dog and a best friend for life. All animals that are adopted out of the Chautauqua County Humane Society have been spayed or neutered, are up to date for vaccinations, and have a microchip. The Chautauqua County Humane Society is located at 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, and is open from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. See all available animals at chqhumane.org.
