Panama Names Students Of The Second Quarter

Panama Central School school’s Students of the Quarter.

PANAMA – Panama Central School officials recently named the school’s Students of the Quarter for the second quarter of the 2023-24 school year. They are:

Wyatt Braun, seventh grade and the son of Ken and Katie Braun of Panama. Wyatt is an Honor Roll student and is a 5/2 volunteer. Wyatt loves all kinds of sports, including football, basketball and baseball. Wyatt also likes hunting, fishing, kayaking and snowmobiling. Wyatt belongs to the Chautauqua Lake Snowmobile Club. His favorite subjects in school are Math and Gym and his favorite TV show is Mountain Man.

Ella Lawson, eighth grade and the daughter of Tom and Laci Lawson of Ashville. Ella is an Honor Roll student. Ella was on the girls modified basketball team. Ella enjoys art, gaming and riding the four-wheeler. She belongs to Art Club, Homework Club and participates in the school musicals. Her favorite subjects in school are art and music, favorite music artists are Taylor Swift and Melanie Martinez, and she enjoys watching Lifetime movies.

Renee Raynor, ninth grade, is the daughter of Kendra Seekings of Panama. Renee is an Honor Roll student. She belongs to the Women in Leadership group, SADD, IMPACT, Student Government, Mock Trial and is the historian for the Class of 2027. Renee was on the junior varsity girls’ basketball and girls swim teams. Renee enjoys painting and reading. Her favorite subject in school is Studio Art, favorite music group is Lumineers, and favorite TV show is Young Sheldon.

Andrew Hammond, 10th grade, is the son of Bobby and Ashley Hammond of Sherman. Andrew is an Honor Roll student. Andrew enjoys hunting, fishing and trap shooting. His true passion is working on race cars and dirt track racing. Andrew maintains his own race car. Andrew has mentored with David and Wyatt Scott at AffliXtion Race Cars. Andrew’s favorite subjects in school are architecture and gym. His favorite music groups are Green Day and Nickelback, and favorite TV shows are Family Guy and Duck Dynasty.

Bryce Hinsdale, 11th grade, is the son of Kyle and Brynne Hinsdale of Clymer. Bryce is an Honor Roll student. Bryce was a member of the CSP football team. He was named to the Buffalo News 1st Team All WNY and to the Class D 1st Team All-State for the past two years. He was honored this year at the Chautauqua County Hall of Fame dinner. Bryce broke the Section VI Career Receptions record with 168. Bryce has played varsity football, basketball and baseball since 9th grade. He enjoys golf and playing video games. Bryce is a member of National Honor Society, SADD and is the vice president of his junior class. His favorite subject in school is History, his favorite TV show is The Office, and he enjoys listening to all kinds of music.

Caroline Apthorpe, 12th grade, is the daughter of Clint Apthorpe of Jamestown and Jennifer Douglas of Ashville. Caroline is an Honor Roll student. She is a member of SADD, Envirothon, Student Government, is the vice-president for the Class of 2024 and is the president of National Honor Society. Caroline plays French horn in the PCS band and is a member of the chorus. She was on the girl’s swim team. Caroline enjoys traveling, listening to music, hanging out with friends, weightlifting, skateboarding and participating in school musicals. This year Caroline played Cinderella in the PCS musical. Her favorite subject in school is Leadership, favorite music group is Brent Faiyaz and favorite TV shows are Formula One and You.
