Observatory To Host Discussion Of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena

Walt Pickut

FREWSBURG – Author Walt Pickut will speak about the latest Pentagon report on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Martz-Kohl Observatory.

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence continues with new investigative tools deployed both on Earth and in deep space. Unidentified flying objects are no more. Now, the discussion focuses on unidentified anomalous phenomena. Pickut will discuss the latest UAP report by the Pentagon as well as some takeaways from a public meeting held by NASA last year during his discussion at the observatory. He will also lead the audience in assigning values to the Drake Equation, a framework for considering the factors that might influence the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

Pickut is a scientific author and the author of the true-story, “The First Counterspy.” He is a long-term member of the Martz-Kohl Observatory.

The presentation will be live at Martz-Kohl Observatory and available online via Zoom. There will be a time for questions and answers and tours. Dress appropriately for the weather as if the session were outside. While the classroom is heated, the domes are not. If the weather permits, there will be public viewing opportunities. The Martz-Kohl Observatory, located at 176 Robbin Hill Road, Frewsburg, is operated by the Marshal Martz Memorial Astronomical Association Inc. a non-profit organization devoted to the amateur astronomer. The emphasis of the association is observational astronomy, well-rooted in education outreach and enjoyment of the starry skies.
