At the Ashville Fire Department Ballfield, an Easter egg hunt recently took place, organized by the Ashville United Methodist Church. Pastor John Bowen led the event with a prayer. Laurie Russell was the coordinator, with an Easter Bunny and many helpers to hide more than 1,000 eggs. There were 35 children and their families who joined in the fun. It was cold with a little bit of snow. Everyone present had a good time. There were four overall winners, Baylanni, 9, of Lakewood, Bryce, 12, of Ashville, Mark, 8, of Ashville, and Kayoni, 3, of Jamestown. All the eggs hidden had little surprises so no one went home without a gift.
