Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival Returns To Reg Lenna Friday, Saturday

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute’s presentation of the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns for two days – Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20, 2024.

The films are different each night, with the festival featuring 17 different short films spread out over two nights.

The Banff Centre Mountain Film and Festival is one of the largest mountain festivals in the world. From more than 400 entries submitted to the festival each year, the Banff World Tour brings award-winners and audience favorites to theatres around the globe.

“We are thrilled to bring back Banff,” said David Niles, RTPI’s advancement director. “Not only does everyone love the Festival, it’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight Jamestown and Chautauqua County. Many of the films celebrate activities that can be enjoyed right here in Chautauqua County and the surrounding region.”

Tickets for the festival start at $25, with discounts for active military, students, children and seniors. Discounted two-day passes — to see all the films over the course of both nights — are available. VIP tickets are also available, which include an opening night reception on Friday, April 19, and reserved seating. Tickets may be purchased online at reglenna.com or in-person at the Reg Lenna box office. Buying tickets in advance is encouraged.

Those attending will be entered into a drawing for prizes and experiences donated by local businesses.

“We are excited that so many businesses in our community jumped in to sponsor Banff this year,” Niles said.

Sponsors include Holiday Valley, Loud Performance, Summit Wealth Management, Cummins, ERA Team VP Real Estate & Vacation Rentals, Media One Radio Group, and the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency’s LIVE CHQ campaign.

Additionally, each ticket to Banff includes an all-access weekend pass to the Roger Tory Peterson Institute. Exhibits open include Kevin Ebi: Five Minutes in Nature. Ebi is a nature photographer whose works range from iconic vistas in national parks to a songbird on a sunlit wildflower.
