FREWSBURG – At a recent meeting of the Frewsburg Lions Club, Barry Scott, district governor, emphasized the International President’s theme, “Changing the World,” one person, one community at a time.

To increase service, the goal has been set to expand worldwide membership from 1.4 to 1.5 million members over five years.

Lions International global causes are childhood cancer, diabetes, disaster relief, environment, humanitarian needs, hunger, vision and supporting youth. Scott requests local clubs create service projects relative to global causes, when possible.

Two examples of the Frewsburg Lions serving the community directly or in the near future include recent completion of a fundraiser with all proceeds to benefit the high school scholarship fund and assisting with the senior prom at the Frewsburg Rest Home on Feb. 10.
