Audubon Nature Paint Night Is March 20
From experienced artists to first-time painters, anyone who would like a fun and creative evening is welcome at Audubon Community Nature Center’s Nature Paint Night, Wednesday, March 20. Instructor Emily Rechin provides step-by-step instructions, information on the nature subject to be painted, and everything you need to create your own nature-inspired masterpiece.
The Audubon Community Center will present the first of two spring Nature Paint Nights from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20.
Beginning to advanced artists are welcome and will be provided with everything they need to create their own nature-inspired masterpiece. Another session will be held Thursday, April 25.
Emily Rechin will provide step-by-step instructions as well as information on the nature subject to be painted.
Rechin went to Alfred University, where she entered as an art major before switching to biology. In addition to being a snowboard instructor, legal assistant, and owner of her own pet-sitting business, Rechin is a former Audubon educator.
Audubon will provide coffee and tea. Be sure to wear clothes that can be stained with paint. The cost is $28 or $21 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. All materials are supplied.
Enrollment is limited. Reservations are required by Sunday, March 17, and can be made by calling 716-569-2345 during business hours or online through “Programs and Events” at AudubonCNC.org.
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren. Visit the nearly 600-acre nature preserve, check in on the live birds of prey, and hike the more than five miles of trails dawn until dusk daily for free.
The three-story Nature Center building houses interactive displays, a collection of live animals including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop. Visitors are welcome Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sundays, 1 to 4:30 p.m. Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders have free building admission daily. Building admission is also free every Sunday for non-Nature Center members.
