Prevention Works To Host Parent Groups In February

Prevention Works will hold several discussion groups for parents in February.

The groups are primarily for parents or caregivers of children through age 12. Discussions are held from 10 a.m. to noon and are held at the Mental Health Association of Chautauqua County.

On Feb. 9, the group will deal with Developing Good Bedtime Routines, followed by Feb. 16 on hassle-free shopping and Feb. 23 on managing fighting and aggression.

Groups give parents and caregivers a safe space to chat about some common problems that they may be experiencing with their children and allow parents to prepare for potential challenges in the future. The parent/caregiver discussion group is designed to promote health and wellness within the community by increasing parents’ confidence while raising children as they go through different stages of development. The group discusses ways for parents to prioritize themselves and practice self-care, which in turn benefits the child and family as a whole.

Groups will be held at the Mental Health Association, 31 Water St., Suite 7, in Jamestown. Zoom option is available upon registering. Walk-ins are welcome.

To register, call Aubrey at 716-664-3608, ext. 110, text 716-489-8999, or email aubrey@preventionworks.us.
