Explorer Post Holds Training

Several agencies and organizations participated in the Explorer Post training scenario held at Camp Merz in Mayville recently. There were 21 students from the Explorer Program along with Jessica Dayton, director of the Chautauqua Safety Village, and board member Cindy Steele. Kerry Christ, Erie-2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES criminal justice instructor and the Allegheny Highlands Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Law enforcement agencies included New York State Police, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department. Participants used skills obtained from previous training for room clearing, first aid and crime scene investigations. The Explorer Post provides opportunities for 14-20 year olds in Chautauqua County who are interested in the Criminal Justice Field.
