The Women’s Club of Lakewood recently held its first fall program at PersNikkity Pies Bakery in Falconer.

Featured speakers were Nikki Pierce, owner of PersNikkity Pies, and artist Sally Burns of Treetop Studio in Jamestown.

Burns discussed various art techniques she teaches, as well as sharing her line of stationery featured in several local businesses for sale. Pierce let the group sample several of the treats she offers for sale in her bakery.

Several gift baskets were raffled off with proceeds benefiting the Women’s Club of Lakewood Scholarship program for local Southwestern senior students. The club is a group of 130, and growing, members who strive to support the Lakewood Community and surrounding areas through donations, community service, social interactions, and mutual improvement.

Their programs meet the fourth Tuesday of every month September through May. The group also hosts a growing number of various interest groups for members, including cooking clubs, walking club, gardening club, book club, and many more.

The group’s next meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Lakewood training grounds for a White Elephant auction.

Village residents are eligible to join the Lakewood Women’s Club who have a 14750 zip code. For more information, contact membership chair Becky Danielson at 716-763-5711 or message the group through the public Facebook page.
