The Reg Lenna To Show Scrooged Wednesday
Bill Murray is pictured in a scene from Scrooged.
The 1988 film Scrooged will be screened at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts.
Scrooged puts Frank Cross (Bill Murray) in a ghostly time warp in this hilarious take-off of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Cross, who has made the meteoric rise from the depths of the mailroom to TV network president, is mean, nasty, uncaring, unforgiving and has a sadistic sense of humor, perfect qualities for a modern-day Scrooge. Before the night is over, he’ll be visited by a maniacal New York cab driver from the past, a present-day fairy who’s into pratfalls and, finally, a ghoulish, seven-foot headless messenger from the future. Scrooged is rated PG-13 and is 101 minutes long. The 1988 comedy is presented at a lower ticket price as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of the Palace Theater.
Upcoming Movies and The Reg include Paul Giamatti in the comedy, The Holdovers (Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.), Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert DeNiro in Martin Scorsese’s historical drama Killers of the Flower Moon (Jan. 6, at 4 p.m.), and Bradley Cooper as Leonard Bernstein in the historical drama The Maestro (Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.)
Tickets to Movies at The Reg are $7 for movies and $6 for family films, with an additional $1 theater restoration fee added. Special movie engagements are priced differently. They may be purchased from noon to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at 716-484-7070 and online at reglenna.com.
