Pat Tyler, an Ellicott Town Board member, is running a write-in re-election campaign for Ward 1 to continue representing Celoron and part of West Ellicott.
“It’s an honor that many Republicans, Democrats, and others are supporting this write-in campaign,” Tyler said. “I know this is an unusual request. However, my record speaks for itself. For 18 years, I have served the town of Elllicott with diligence and dignity.”
He added, “In the Ward 1 race, I am the candidate with the experience, the candidate who understands the issues facing the town of Ellicott, and the candidate who works hard to keep our taxes down.”
Tyler served as town supervisor from 1996 to 2007 and has been a town board member for the past six years.
“If the people of the Ward 1 chose to grant me the privilege of serving them for two more years, I will continue to keep a lid on taxes and will work hard to continue economic growth in the town while maintaining our many fine neighborhoods that make Ellicott a desireable place to live and work,” he said.
Tyler is a lifelong Chautauqua County resident and a 46-year homeowner in West Ellicott.
A Maple Grove High School alumnus, he attended Jamestown Community College and graduated from New Castle Business College in Pennsylvania with a degree in business administration.
Tyler is a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Lakewood Run and Gun Club, a 42-year member of IABBO Board 39 Basketball Officials, and a volunteer for the Jametown YMCA and Gus Macker basketball programs.
He was employed by Jametown Container Corp. for 41 years and then worked for the Knights of Columbus for two years selling life insurance.
He and his wife, Mary, are the grandparents of six, helping watch them while their parents work.
